This is something that I saw a while ago with Kira's family. My father and mother had both told me things like "your children will be disadvantaged" or "you have to keep the Korean bloodline pure". Other arguements that I've heard from people include: "you will argue and get a divorce because of how different you are" "you will soil the Kim's family name" "the world is still very racist against black people" It is their opinion of course and things and people do change. I've been married to Kira for almost a year now and when I think of all the nasty and bad things people have told me when it came to marrying someone that is not Korean, I feel bad for them. Sometimes I miss being with my other family. Especially during times when people would all get together to celebrate a holiday or something. Although I wish I were there, I would be giving up myself and everything that I've worked so hard for if I did show up.
I love the prospect of having my own family and starting our own traditions. I can't wait for the next year. There will be a lot of new and exciting things to come. It's time to finally hit the reset button on life. New things happening relating to school, work, and family. Watch out 2008, here I come.
Somebody said that it couldn't be done, But, he with a chuckle replied That "maybe it couldn't" but he would be one Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn't be done, as he did it.
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that; At least no one we know has done it"; But he took off his coat and he took off his hat, And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, Without any doubting or quiddit, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn't be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, There are thousands to prophesy failure; There are thousands to point out to you, one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle right in with a bit of a grin, Just take off your coat and go to it; Just start to sing as you tackle the thing That cannot be done, and you'll do it
